Giant Bendy hand
- This article refers to the large version of a Bendy hand that inhabits the ink river. For other uses, see Bendy (disambiguation).
"THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE RIVER" |
The giant Bendy hand[2] is an enormous ink entity that inhabits the Ink River in the ink realm. It guards the river and brings down what disturbs it.[1]
History
Origins
The origin of the giant Bendy hand is unknown. It is unclear if it was a second attempt of making Bendy after Thomas Connor's "Progress Report", or something Joey Drew made while the ink realm was being created. All that is known is that the hand ended up in the ink river. Whether the hand is attached to a body is unknown.
The disturbance
After Henry leaves the barge port, he rides the barge to a large room in the Ink River, where Allison and Tom's barge is parked. Henry's barge's paddlewheel suddenly gets clogged with thick ink. He uses his Gent pipe to clear it up, but suddenly the giant Bendy hand emerges by the other barge. It takes down that barge, and begins going after Henry's barge.
Henry keeps moving forward to avoid being drowned by the giant hand. He then goes through a long process of driving the boat forward and unclogging the paddlewheel as the hand looms behind him. Eventually, Henry reaches the Lost Harbor and the hand stops following him.
Characteristics
Physical appearance
The giant Bendy hand is a large and long inky arm with a glove-covered hand at the top. Each finger has ink on it, and the glove has long ink drips leading from those fingers on to the middle parts of the glove. Whether the arm is attached to anything is unknown.
Abilities
The hand is seemingly able to sense things disturbing the river. Because of its ability to sense things in the ink, it seems to always know when a barge stops moving, and it'll appear right behind it.
Because of its size, the hand is quite strong and can grab barges with ease. It can also bring barges down into the lake. Somehow, it causes the boats to somehow not rise back up to the top, either due to the hand damaging it or due to the boat being submerged.
Gameplay
Strategy
There's no way to kill the hand, so the only way to get rid of it is to avoid it. Henry will have to pull the lever forward until the paddlewheel gets clogged again. He'll then have to remove the thick ink as fast as possible by hitting each spot the ink appears in. Then, he can keep moving. This process will repeat until he reached the Lost Harbor.
Behind the scenes
The giant Bendy hand is a minor antagonist in the fifth chapter of Bendy and the Ink Machine.
Other information
A similar model of the hand is seen in Chapter 4: Colossal Wonders. It appears in Storage 9 and Research and Design, hovering above.
The non-canon Joey Drew Studios Employee Handbook implies that the hand is actually Beast Bendy, with the line "...Ink Bendy mutates again into Beast Bendy..."[2]
