"That's where the ghosts live. Just beyond that door. The Keepers prison. The Pit. No one ever comes out. At least, they're never quite the same."
Heidi to Audrey[1]

Heidi is a playful Lost One with the Fast Travel ability, who encounters Audrey within the Gent Workshop.

History

Origins

How Heidi came to be is unknown. Regardless, she was created the same way as all the other Lost Ones.

It's presumed that she was more like the other Lost Ones at some point. This changed, however, when she got in trouble with the Keepers due to her accessing places she wasn't meant to be in.

Lost souls playing a game

During Wilson Arch's takeover, she and Porter met in the Tunnels and decided to play a game of hide-and-seek. Heidi went into hiding throughout the tunnels while Porter was the seeker. After Porter found her three times, the Keepers caught up on the two and captured Heidi, taking her to the The Pit and leaving Porter as the only survivor.

Due to the horrific experiences inside The Pit, Heidi's personality began to differ. She became more child-like with the way she spoke, and she seemed to always crave happiness.[2]

Hide and seek

Audrey attempts to access the Gent Workshop's Prison through a door that requires a switch but it fails. Heidi suddenly appears behind her and begins explaining that "the ghosts" live within The Pit, and that no one ever comes out, and if they somehow do, they're never quite the same. She then states that she can open the door for Audrey, but only if they play a game of Hide and Seek. Audrey then turns around and begins counting, and when she finishes, she begins searching for Heidi.

Heidi will always appear in the previous room she was in, behind a balcony in between some boxes and barrels. Once found, Heidi exclaims that she's been found, and after Audrey asks, she states that the door to the prison is open now. She decides to give Audrey a power she has, being Fast Travel. This allows Audrey to backtrack to previous areas in order to find secrets more easily. Heidi will continue sitting there afterwards.

If Audrey returns to the Gent Workshop later, Heidi will no longer be there.

The finale

After Audrey merges with the Ink Demon to become Beast Bendy, she goes through many halls, and multiple friendly faces she's encountered previously appearing along the way. Heidi is among these friendly faces, seen on top of some machinery in the final room of the Dark Laboratory Halls.

Characteristics

Physical appearance

Heidi, like most Lost Ones possess glowing yellow eyes and shares similarities to humans, only being made of ink and also obscuring any distinguishing human features. Since she is a female Lost One, she has hair, rounder eyes, small hands and feet, and breasts except she wears a bowtie to show her differences to other female Lost Ones.

Personality

Because of her being in The Pit, the way she acts is different from other Lost Ones. She's more child-like and playful, wanting to play games and have fun.

Abilities

Her most prominent ability is Fast Travel, allowing her to easily travel across long distances through Linker pipes. With her, however, it also seems like she can travel through regular pipes as well.

She can also give others Fast Travel, while still not losing the ability herself.

Gameplay

Bendy: Lone Wolf

Heidi has a rare chance of being spotted during the main game through look-holes. She will be staring back at Boris in front of a blurred background. If Boris leaves and peeks through the look-hole a second time, she will have vanished.

Behind the scenes

Heidi is a minor protagonist who debuts in Bendy and the Dark Revival: Chapter 4: Factory of Horrors and made a cameo in Chapter 5. She reappeared in Bendy: Lone Wolf alongside Porter.

Other information

Her name is likely based off of the word "Hidey-Hole" or "Hiding", as she enjoys playing Hide and Seek.
