"I saw the words "Silverlane Express" now on the front as it rushed to the platform. I opened my eyes. That was odd. Trains for the subway didn't have names like that. They had numbers and letters. Not names."
Rose Sorenson, about the anomaly.

The Silverlane Express is a form of vision that appears as a 20th-century subway train, manifesting in the Upper East Side subway station.[1]

History

After fleeing from Archie Carter, Rose Sorenson arrived at a subway station at the Upper East Side's, which was empty since it wasn't commonly used during nighttime. While keeping watch for Archie, Rose heard a train horn from the distance. Planning to escape him with the arriving train, she remained near the platform.

As the train approached, Archie entered the station and slowly started to make his way towards Rose. Despite the urgency of the situation, Archie's slow pace confused Rose. She stood by as she waited for the train to arrive. When it arrived, the doors opened in front of her. Archie noticed Rose's movement and began to quickly run towards her.

Just as Rose attempted to board the train, Archie pulled her away, and they both fell backwards. Rose quickly broke free and got back up. She went to board the train again, only to realize it had vanished. Losing balance, she fell towards the tracks, catching herself on the railing above. Archie quickly pulled her up and got her back on the platform.

After they both calmed down, Archie claimed he didn't see any train, leaving Rose confused. She then remarked the train had an actual name—Silverlane Express—as opposed to the usual number-based designation used for subway trains. With this information, Rose concluded the train was a vision and not real.[2]

Characteristics

Abilities

Due to its nature as a vision, the Silverlane Express can only be perceived by people who have been exposed to the 3-D glasses technology, which causes hallucination-like experiences from the ink realm.

The Silverlane Express is an object that appears in the nineteenth chapter of the Bendy: Fade to Black novel.
