The Pit, also known as the Research Wing of the Gent Workshop, is a location where the Keepers imprisoned the troublesome souls of the ink realm and psychologically tortured the prisoners to be hostile or harmless, during the dark revival.

It represents a section of the Gent Workshop where Gent conducted top-secret experiments and mysterious research, presumably on their human test subjects, before the building was condemned in late 1952.

Background

The Pit is a part of the Keepers' facility in the Gent Workshop where they conducted inhumane experiments on the residents of the ink realm. The Pit is a prison where people who are seen as a threat to Wilson Arch's rule are imprisoned and tortured until neutralization. The Keepers use a variety of methods to neutralize their prisoners, such as mental conditioning and psychological torture. Heidi was one of the many victims that were mentally altered, reverting her into a child-like state.

Behind the scenes

The Pit is a location that first appeared in the fourth chapter of Bendy and the Dark Revival, although only its entrance is shown. It will appear as the main setting of Bendy: The Cage.
