Shipahoy Dudley is a cartoon character created by Wilson Arch, intended to become a monster that would replace the Ink Demon.

Characteristics

Physical Appearance

Dudley is a stout human who has blonde hair, red cheeks, wide ears and a big smile. He wears a sailor’s hat, fingerless gloves, big black shoes with white shoelaces, a red sailor’s tie and a blue uniform with white suspenders and details of red and yellow.

Personality

There is not a lot of characterisation for Dudley as all we see of him is one drawing Wilson drew. In the drawing, Dudley does look to be happy and have an innocent grin on his face, suggesting he may be a benign, childish character.

Behind the Scenes

Shipahoy Dudley can be first seen in the Arch Gate Pictures offices in the Prologue of Bendy and the Dark Revival as his concept art. He later appears in Chapter 5 on a easel in Wilson's lab after Wilson explains his plan. After Wilson's soul is put into him, Dudley borns as a corrupted and monstrous version of himself.

Inspirations

Considering his childish appearance, blond curly hair, and red, white and blue attire, he could be inspired by the titular character from Cartoon Network series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. He can also be based on characters like Popeye and Donald Duck.

Other information

The name of his crab companion, Crackle the Crab, was revealed in The Archives, and is also referred as Dudley's "sidekick."
