Canon is the material officially accepted as part of the fictional story in a specific universe of that story. This style guide gives details on what is canon on Bendy Wiki.

Canonicity

Main game series' canon

The most accepted canon of the Bendy franchise in general is the series of mainline games and their spin-offs, along with accompanying materials outside of games.[1] The following games include:

The mobile spin-off game Bendy in Nightmare Run is seemingly accepted as canon to this main canonicity branch, judging by its few related references found in the fifth Bendy and the Ink Machine chapter and Gaskette's appearance in Bendy: Secrets of the Machine. Although due to its discontinued status after its official download was removed, whether the game still remain as canon or not is not officially clarified.

Outside of the main games, other canonical sources include animated Joey Drew Studios cartoon videos and the Press Archive.

Novel series' canon

The novel series are supposedly written to reveal expanded background information for the Bendy universe outside of the games. Although, despite containing almost no contradictions whatsoever, the novels were not canon to the mainline games' continuity; therefore they are written rather as apocryphal series.[1][2] The following novels include:

Other non-novel books are not canon as well, as they are tied to the novels' continuity. This includes:

 • Joey Drew Studios Employee Handbook (Updated Edition)
 • Crack-Up Comics Collection

Instead of inserting novel-related information to main articles, create sub-pages for their novel counterparts and make sure to add this section to their infobox between the title and image sections:
|subpages =
[[PAGENAME|Canon]] {{*}} [[PAGENAME/novel|Novel]]

If the article's topic is primarily from the exclusive canon outside of the main series' continuity, add the {{AlternateCanon}} template to the article's very top part. However, if exclusive information for the subject matter's novel counterpart is too minor, they may be added to the main canonical counterpart's pages under the "Apocryphal information" section with the {{AlternateCanon-header}} template.

Other non-canonical sources

Anything else that is made merely for fun, such as crossovers (i.e: Hello Bendy crossover event and the Bendy VS Cuphead short), is not accepted as part of the canon. However, they should still be mentioned in non-canon sections of the articles, especially for "In other media" under the "Behind the scenes" section.

Real-life information

Based on the co-existence of real-life subjects (real people, locations, countries, events, etc) that appeared or mentioned in games and other media, the Bendy series take place in our world, albeit fictional and consists alternate histories different to the world's non-fictional counterpart.

It is strongly recommended that such subject materials should be only listed in listing articles instead of as separated articles, unless they have an significant impact with the series. For the category, see Category:Real-life topics.
