Joey Drew's letter
- This article refers to Joey's letter. For other uses, see Joey (disambiguation).
Joey Drew's untitled letter is a memo written as a message to invite Henry Stein back to Joey's "studio".[2]
Transcript
- Dear Henry,
- It seems like a lifetime since we worked on cartoons together. 30 years really slips away, doesn't it?
- If you're back in town, come visit the old workshop. There's something I need to show you.
Behind the scenes
Joey Drew's letter is a non-item memo and only appeared in the intro screen for Bendy and the Ink Machine before starting Chapter 1: Moving Pictures.[2]
Development
The letter was created during production of the game's prototype demo. In the initial release version of Chapter 1, the lines "Doesn't it" from Joey's letter has a question mark at the end along with the dented Bendy stamp. In the chapter's first remastered update for the DLC release of Chapter 2, the question mark was removed for unknown reasons, and the Bendy stamp seems to look clean. After Chapter 3 came out as the game's DLC, the question mark was re-added, but was removed again upon release of Chapter 4.
Other information
A shorter version of Joey Drew's letter appeared in the discontinued mobile game Bendy in Nightmare Run, displayed as an intro message before moving on to the level selection menu.
An alternate version of Joey Drew's letter was posted by Hot Topic to promote their then-upcoming Bendy merchandise.[3]

Notes
- ↑ While the exact year date for the letter's delivery was never specified, Bendy and the Ink Machine takes place in 1963 according to the calendar from Joey Drew's apartment. In that case, the letter was sent to Henry either before or during 1963.

And this isn’t even factoring Gent’s technological advancements that seem to be one step ahead.
