History
Origins
In Dreams Come to Life, Norman Polk was the studio’s projectionist, manning the projectors used to play cartoon reels. Buddy and Dot found figures of ink hanging from the theatre catwalk which they travelled across, and decided to lower them down. They uncovered one of them and find that Norman was in the ink, dead. In the books, notably The Lost Ones wish Brant and Dreams Come to Life with Buddy, characters who die to ink tend to be reincarnated into an ink creature of some sort. Due to Norman’s connection with projectors with his job and knowing of both Brant and Buddy’s reincarnations, it’s safe to assume he met the same fate.
Characteristics
Physical Appearance
In Fade to Black, Rose describes the projectionist as a black creature with a projector for a head, cables attached to it which flow behind his back. She also notes “something metal and round” embedded in his chest. This all suggests he shares an appearance with his in-game, canon models.
