Bendy and the Ink Machine: Chapter 2

Little Devil Darling is chronologically the 3rd main music track of Bendy and the Ink Machine, played from Chapter 1: Moving Pictures to Chapter 3: Rise and Fall.

Description

The music is intense, with instruments including drums, a trombone, an erhu, and a violin. The start of the music also intends to startle and/or frighten the player. For the whole track, it lasts for over 20 seconds before looping four times.

Usage

The music serves as the Ink Demon's chase theme. It was used for all chapters but Chapter 4 and 5.

  • In Chapter 1: Moving Pictures, the track plays when the whole workshop starts flooding and collapsing with ink after Henry Stein encounters the Ink Demon from the entrance of the Ink Machine's loading dock.
  • In Chapter 2: The Old Song, this track plays when Henry escapes after Sammy Lawrence is attacked by the Ink Demon. The track then plays again when the Ink Demon shows up from the ink pool at the end of the corridor and begins to chase down Henry until Henry enters the S3 Vault.
  • In Chapter 3: Rise and Fall, the track plays whenever the Ink Demon sees Henry in front of his sight. The music will stop after the Ink Demon kills Henry or when the latter hides in a Little Miracle Station.

Behind the scenes

The "Little Devil Darling" track was composed by theMeatly.

In older versions of Bendy and the Ink Machine since the prototype demo, the first version of the music has a completely different intense tone and much shorter in length, only lasting for 36 seconds before looping in-game. This version of the track is also available on the deleted Game Jolt soundtrack as track #3 and Bandcamp's Bendy and the Ink Machine: Chapter Two Soundtrack as track #4. It was ultimately replaced with a new version for the DLC release of Chapter 4: Colossal Wonders.

In the Hello Bendy mod for Bendy and the Ink Machine, the music was replaced with the chase theme of Theodore Peterson, who replaces the Ink Demon. This track is Theodore's signature chase theme used for several pre-release versions (Pre-Alpha, Alpha 1, and final versions) of the original Hello Neighbor game, and it is written by Nikita Kolesnikov from the game's company Dynamic Pixels. However, the "Little Devil Darling" track is still used for Sammy's death aftermath from the sacrifice room.

In the Hello Bendy mod for Hello Neighbor for the same event, the prototype version of "Little Devil Darling" is used as Theodore Peterson's chase theme.
