Offering to the Dogs

"Offering to the Dogs",[b] also known as "Chapter One",[1] is the title of Wally Franks' first audio log.[2][1]
Transcript
- At this point, I don't get what Joey's plan is for this company. The animations sure aren't being finished on time anymore. And I certainly don't see why we need this machine. It's noisy, it's messy. And who needs that much ink anyway?
- Also, get this, Joey had each one of us donate something from our work station. We put them on these little pedestals in the break room. To help appease the gods, Joey says. Keep things going.
- I think he's lost his mind, but, hey, he writes the checks.
- But I tell you what, if one more of these pipes burst, I'm outta here.
Location
In Bendy and the Ink Machine: Chapter 1 - Moving Pictures, the audio log is located on the round table between two closet doors from one of the art room's outside corridors where two Little Devil Darlin' posters are found.[2]
In Bendy and the Dark Revival: Chapter 4 - Factory of Horrors, when Joey's memory takes Audrey back to Chapter 1 of Bendy and the Ink Machine, use Flow to get up to a secret desk. In this desk is the audio log titled, "Chapter One - Wally Franks", which may be an allusion to the Moving Pictures chapter in which it is found.[1]

Behind the scenes
Offering to the Dogs is Wally Franks' first audio log from Chapter 1 of Bendy and the Ink Machine, as well as the very first audio log found in the game. It returns in Bendy and the Dark Revival as a hidden tape in Chapter 4.
Development
It was conceived by theMeatly as the first audio log of the Bendy series.
In the Bendy and the Ink Machine prototype demo, when Wally's audio log was first introduced, it was originally placed on the shelf instead of the table, prior to the DLC release of Chapter 4: Colossal Wonders. The audio log's model formerly featured a normal map, but in the game's first remastered update for the DLC release of Chapter 2: The Old Song, it was removed as unfitting for the game's hand-drawn style.[3] In addition, Wally's recording had no transcript to go along with it, meaning that his name was initially unknown until it was added in from the game's first remastered update.
Other information
The title is a spoof to "offering to the gods", which also derives from Wally's testimony of Joey appeasing the gods.
Notes
- ↑ The full date was not confirmed, but given the audio log's topic, it is very likely that this audio log was recorded around the time the Ink Machine was installed.
- ↑ The name "Offering to the Dogs" comes from the Bendy and the Ink Machine game's source code, but it was not officially used outside of the codes.
