"Looks like they knocked out a wall or two after I left. Guess it took a few people to replace me."
Henry upon entering the art department.[1]

The Animation Department is a workshop location from the Cycle.

The Animation Department represents as a Joey Drew Studios area built to fill the gap left behind by Henry Stein's resignation from the studio, meaning that Joey Drew had to hire more animators to replace Henry. The Animation Department is where the animators drew sketches to prepare the animation reels, at 24 frames per second, for the Bendy cartoons.

Background

The room contains a little staircase entrance, with multiple sets of desk and a bathroom blocked at the left side of the room.

Points of interest

  • The inkwell is located here. It is one of the six ritual items for the break room.
  • The desk in the corner has a drawing frame of Bendy that changes when looking away for few moments. An audio cue will play when the picture changes. There a total of 10 different pictures, with the 10th picture is very rare and hard to catch.

Behind the scenes

The Animation Department appears in Chapter 1: Moving Pictures of Bendy and the Ink Machine.

Prior to the DLC release of Chapter 4: Colossal Wonders, the room has gone through changes only few times: From the prototype demo, the department was just a locked door, and since the DLC release of Chapter 2: The Old Song, the door was replaced with a little staircase room but the entrance was blocked by wooden boards.
