Henry Stein's desk is a location found in the Cycle.
It represents as once Henry's work area from Joey Drew Studios, where he first designed Bendy and drew sketches of him for the series of Bendy cartoons until he left the company. It would later be used by Buddy Lewek after his abandonment of the studio.
Background
In this room is an animation desk with a wooden chair and a Bendy cutout on the left side. On the desk are two concept paper sheets, one of which is bigger with a rejected drawing of Bendy with the "No" sticker on it, while the other one is a random sketch of Bendy's movements and sizes. The whole area is scattered with pieces of blank paper. There are also cracks on the right wall and a crack behind the desk.
Points of interests
- It was located at the far left hall of the work lobby, next to the animation department's entrance door.
- When using the Seeing Tool on the desk, the message "He was born here" can be read.
- When starting up the Ink Machine and going back to this location, the sound of the heart-beat is louder than most other areas.
Behind the scenes
Henry's desk first appears in Chapter 1: Moving Pictures of Bendy and the Ink Machine, and later reappears in Chapter 4 where Henry explores the vents, and Chapter 5 while walking around the miniature version of the work lobby before entering the hall to the giant Ink Machine's outside entrance.
The room returns in Chapter 4: Factory of Horrors of Bendy and the Dark Revival, when Audrey is transported to the old studio by Joey Drew's memory. The area appears to be closed off, but the flow ability can be used to access an opening in the ceiling and bypass the metal gate, and upon approaching the desk, Audrey makes a remark similar to Henry's, stating that someone must have spent a lot of their time working here.
Development
The room was initially created by theMeatly for testing the game's graphic style, making it the first room created for Bendy and the Ink Machine.[1]
In Bendy and the Ink Machine's older updates before the DLC release of Chapter 4, the second shelf of the animation desk is one of the four possible random locations of some of the Ink Machine's ritual items:
- Wrench - Leaning on the wall in front of Bendy's cutout.
- Inkwell - Located under the animation desk.
In Bendy and the Ink Machine: Chapter 1, the desk area's access during the chapter's climax was changed over many times through updates until the DLC release of Chapter 4:
- From the prototype demo, the desk room or the workroom cannot be accessed due the the rain of ink blocking the way.
- In the first remastered version of Chapter 1 with the release of Chapter 2, this area would be sealed by a large gate.
- In the second remastered version with the release of Chapter 3, the room can now be visited during the flood. Although, this part was reverted after the release of Chapter 4: Colossal Wonders.
