"And I got to know the world underground. I got to know the theater and the studio. I watched, hidden, as they were merged together. I watched Mister Drew fire people and hire new ones, and I watched as he tried to make the machine work."
Buddy Boris.

Buddy Boris is a Boris clone based on Buddy Lewek, created after Joey found Buddy dead and decided to use his soul to bring Boris to life.[1]

History

Origins

After Buddy was killed by Beast Bendy and drowned him in the ink along with him, being revived as a Boris clone, Joey reveals what happened to Buddy and even tells him to accept his new self and not to talk or make sense of it as it would only frustrate him, even though he was already frustrated to begin with. As Buddy starts to lose the ability to speak, Joey attempts to entice Buddy into accompanying him to an undisclosed location, supposedly containing an abundant amount of food. Despite Boris the Wolf's personality beginning to take control, Buddy was able to resist this for one final act: crushing Joey's hand, throwing him to the floor and running deep into the studio.

The story

After Buddy started to lose his memories, he decided to wrote down what happened to him on the walls to have someone, especially Dot, read it and stop the Monster, the Machine and Mister Drew. After he finished writing the story, he lost most if not all of his memories and continued his new purpose of saving people.

Saving Constance

While at the meatpacking factory, Boris saw Constance running down a tunnel and saved her from falling into the ocean. He then quickly vanished into the darkness.

Inside the Cycle

At some point after the Cycle's creation, Buddy Boris gets trapped inside the cartoon world, just like all the other ink creatures. How he ended up there is currently unknown, however.

Friends until the end

After narrowly escaping from Sammy Lawrence and the fabled Ink Demon, Henry enters a room and encounter a living Boris.

Boris takes Henry to his home where they're safe from any danger. Henry makes Boris a bowl of bacon soup in exchange for the door lever to open the main door, and the pair of them venture out into the studio.

Henry and Boris navigates their way through the darkness in dark hallway, with Henry must keep close to Boris while having a flashlight in hand, otherwise, Boris will shiver in dread if Henry walks far away from him. Finally reaching the end of the dark hallway, Boris crawls to the air vent for opening the gate to the Heavenly Toys area after borrowing a flashlight from Henry. Subsequently, they are briefly separated until Henry reaches the small area where the door leading to the toy storage is found after the "Demon path" or "Angel path."

After a short separation, Henry reunites with Boris, with Boris giving the Gent pipe to Henry for his self-defense.

Both enter the toy storage, and Boris takes the lever from one hall next to the Bendy statue while Henry himself goes to attempt activating the other lever in order to open the main Level K area's door, but interrupted by the disfigured Butcher Gang enemy known as the Piper. After Piper dies, Henry pulls the other lever with ease, opening the door to the next location.

Both enter the elevator as Boris accompanies Henry to Alice Angel's lair on Level 9.

On Level 9, when the pair enters the flooded morgue-like area, Boris discovers a nearly identical copy of himself near the entrance that has been sacrificed to Alice Angel. The area has many of the deceased Boris clones, along with dead members of the Butcher Gang. As Boris stares at "himself," Alice Angel reveals that she used the clones of Boris to make herself more "perfect," using them to try and repair her broken state. The corpses left behind were simply the remains of anything she did not need. The nature of the death of all these clones also hint at the one responsible for the death of the Boris clone on the upper floors.

Throughout the quests, Boris will wait as Henry travels to the various floors to do tasks for Alice Angel. At the end, with all of Alice Angel's quests accomplished, she double-crosses Henry after promising to let him escape, causing the elevator to plummet downwards. She states that she wants to sacrifice Boris to make herself beautiful. The elevator crashes on Level S. As Henry comes to, he sees Boris panic before he gets dragged away by Alice Angel.

Boris was captured by Alice Angel and it was up to Henry to make his way and save him. Henry makes his away from the accountant and financing all the way to Bendy Land's Haunted House, where Henry would find Boris in time. Unfortunately, towards the end within the ballroom, Henry's mission of saving Boris' life was ultimately in vain, as Boris, now appearing as a massively monstrous version of himself named "Brute Boris", comes out of the darkness and throws the roller cart Henry was using away from him. Henry is forced to confront the monstrous Boris in a battle and kills him off at the end ending the suffering for being used by the angel.

Characteristics

Physical appearance

A tall, dog-like being with pie-cut eyes, Buddy Boris appears almost perfectly identical to the original cartoon character, other than having a taller and almost human-like appearance.

Personality

Buddy Boris used to have most of Buddy's characteristics, but after losing his memories various of these traits disappeared. However, he is still shown to be willing to help and save people as seen from Constance. Additionally, he is said to like food just like his cartoon counterpart.

Behind the scenes

Buddy Boris is mentioned throughout the Bendy: Dreams Come to Life novel, but he only physically appears at the end of the novel. He also briefly appears in Bendy: The Lost Ones as he saves Constance.

Other information

Despite the novels not being canon, there is a train ride in Bendy Land that's named "Buddy Boris Railway", Henry sometimes refers to the in-game Boris as "Buddy" and when the Seeing tool is used on Boris posters a message that reads "I'm sorry Buddy" can be seen. All of these points seems to hint that Buddy Lewek is also the soul trapped in the canon counterpart of Boris the Wolf, whether that's true is currently unknown.
