Main characters

• Henry Stein - The former animator of Joey Drew Studios. His ink replica appears as the main protagonist of Bendy and the Ink Machine.
• Joey Drew - The founder of Joey Drew Studios. He is an overarching antagonist of Bendy and the Ink Machine.

Major characters

• Ink Demon - The Ink Demon is a monstrous version of Bendy, and a constant threat throughout all five chapters.
• Boris the Wolf - The physical manifestation of the original cartoon character and one of the allies. He appears from Chapter 2 to 4.
• Allison Pendle - The voice actress of Alice Angel who was first mentioned in Chapter 3, and appear in Chapter 4 and 5 as Allison Angel.
• Thomas Connor - The repairman of Gent and his voice was first heard in the audio logs of Chapter 1 and 3, and physically appear in Chapter 4 and 5 as Tom.
• Sammy Lawrence - The music director of Joey Drew Studios. His ink form physically appear as one of the secondary antagonists in Chapter 2 and later Chapter 5.
• Susie Campbell - The former voice actress of Alice Angel and only heard in audio logs from Chapter 2 to 4. Her twisted form based on the cartoon character appears in Chapter 3 and 4 as one of the secondary antagonists.
• Jack Fain - The lyricist of Joey Drew Studios. He only appears in Chapter 2 as a Swollen Searcher-like creature.
• Norman Polk - The lead projectionist of Joey Drew Studios. His voice was first heard in his audio log from Chapter 2 and physically appeared in Chapter 3 and 4 as a monster known as "the Projectionist".
• Wally Franks - The janitor of Joey Drew Studios. He was only heard in audio logs from all five chapters.
• Bertrum Piedmont - The founder of Bendy Land. He only appears in his boss form in Chapter 4.

Minor antagonists

• Searchers - The first enemy you encounter, serving as a tutorial for combat in "Chapter 2". First found in the Music Department they spawn all over the game, appearing in "Chapter 2" to "5"
• Butcher Gang (ink realm) - A malformed and dismantled version of the the Butcher gang, first appearing in "Chapter 3" as a Jumpscare, they persist throughout the rest of the game. Appearing in "Chapter 3" to "5"
• - Piper - One of the Members of the Butcher Gang, He is a reflection of Charley
• - Fisher - One of the Members of the Butcher Gang, He is a reflection of Barley
• - Striker - One of the Members of the Butcher Gang, He is a reflection of Edgar
• Lost Ones - The population of human-shaped ink creatures that appear in Chapter 4 and 5 as both NPCs and enemies.

• Shawn Flynn - The toy maker of Heavenly Toys and only heard in his audio log in Chapter 3.
• Grant Cohen - The financial keeper and only heard in audio logs in Chapter 3 and 4.
• Lacie Benton - The engineer of Bendy Land and only heard in her audio log in Chapter 4.
• Dead Boris clones - The deceased duplicated clones of Boris the Wolf and found in Chapter 1 and later Chapter 3.
• Joey Drew's niece - One of Joey Drew's created nieces and her voice is only heard from the post-credit scene.
• Bendy Animatronic - The animatronic version of bendy found in Bendy Land.
