Fisher

From Bendy Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Fisher is a corrupted counterpart of Joey Drew Studios' cartoon character Barley and one of the Butcher Gang members.

History

Origins

Nothing much is known about Fisher's origins, except for the fact that he was torn apart by Alice Angel and then beeing imprisoned with the other two Butcher Gang members Piper and Striker into the wooden box seen in Bendy: Lone Wolf. In The Cycle are present multiple Fishers as seen in Bendy and the Ink Machine, but where these other Fishers were, when they were created and why only one of them was caged it's unknown.

Unleashed

The Fisher, along with the other two Butcher Gang enemies were locked up in the wooden box until it was opened by Boris with five crate keys.

Upon his release, Fisher will be seen wandering around the levels and will chase Boris when seen in front of his sight.

Looking for extra-thick ink

While a few dead clones of Fisher are first seen hanging inside the large area of Alice Angel's lair, the living Fisher first appears when Henry starts finding extra-thick inks for Alice Angel, encountered around the areas on Level 11. In this task, Fisher carries one of the extra-thick ink and will be collected upon killing him. Fisher will later respawn during Henry's other progressing tasks.

In the task of defending Alice's lair, Henry must confront Fisher along with Piper and Striker before solving the next task.[1]

Characteristics

Physical appearance

Fisher's body resembles that of the original Barley and wears what resembles a tight black suit. He wears a pair of boot-like shoes, and a wooden sign for a buckle from his belt which says, "LIAR" written in ink. He also wears a pair of white gloves stained with light sprinkles of ink. His neck is replaced with a wooden fishing rod, which allows his head to dangle by a thread similar to a fishing bobber. His head design is the only part of his body that makes him heavily different to his original cartoon counterpart; his head shape was rounder, partly covered in growth-like boils, a large gap-like left eye and a small round right eye with a X-shaped pupil, a missing eyepatch, and has a wide grimacing mouth in place of his beard while sporting two stick-like objects and a set of false teeth.

In Bendy and the Ink Machine, Fisher's body is uncannily similar to his original counterpart and has a round pot belly, while his disfigured head has a pipe-like object for a nose while the warts from the left side of his face contain lighter colors. His fishing rod neck has a wooden, fish-shaped cutout dangling from the top. He wields a unique wrench that's exclusive to him as a weapon in his left hand.

In Bendy and the Dark Revival, his design has changed quite drastically. His head's warts are now completely black in color while his face is extending outwards to the point it looks like a mask. His right pupil seems to be a button, and his pipe nose is now triangular and skull-like. His false teeth, have been replaced with ones that are completely organic and are very expressive with his swollen lips being held up by a pair of mouth restraints. His fishing pole neck is no longer attached to his body, but rather by a pair of metal parts that are attached to the rings that surround his arms. Where the base of his neck would be, is now replaced by what looks like chicken wire. His forearms are bloated with extra thick ink. Two extenders on his sides are connected to the two shoulder rings and his belt, which is now metallic with visible screws. His wooden sign belt buckle has now been replaced with a smaller metal one that has been moved up to his sternum for unknown reasons. His boots are now bigger and have two straps visible on each of them. Instead of wielding a wrench, he now attacks with a hook.

Behavior

In Bendy and the Ink Machine, when he notices Henry, Fisher will slowly walk towards him and use a low range attack with the wrench. Fisher performs a secondary attack by swaying his head rapidly when approached too close as this attack also has a low range but lasts longer. No matter how far Henry runs, Fisher will not stop following after Henry unless he hides inside the Little Miracle Station. Fisher is slightly stronger than two other Butcher Gang enemies and can be very dangerous during the confrontation because he can quickly kill Henry when damaging him at least 3 times from getting in front of him close for too long.

Gameplay

Strategy

Bendy and the Ink Machine

A great strategy for dealing with him is to wait for his attack animation to end before hitting him and not trying to attack when he is moving. If multiple "Butcher Gang" enemies are in the same area, it's usually best to lure the others away from Fisher, as he is much slower than the others it will take him longer to reach Henry, allowing Henry to kill the others easily. If he gets too close to the Ink Demon's ink coverings, he will die instantly.

Behind the scenes

The Fisher is one of the recurring enemies of the Bendy series. He first appeared in Bendy and the Ink Machine from the third to fifth chapter, and appeared in Bendy and the Dark Revival. He also appeared in Bendy: Lone Wolf since The Unleashed update.

Development

The Fisher was created during production for the third Bendy and the Ink Machine chapter's DLC release. From the concept art by theMeatly, the Fisher's appearance originally included ink drips, with his corn-pipe nose emitting a wisp of smoke.

Portrayal

The Fisher's "voicelines" in Bendy and the Ink Machine were done by theMeatly; his voice clips were actually reused from the Piper.[2] In Bendy and the Dark Revival, he was voiced by Mat Brunet, also known as AniMat, a YouTuber who is best known for reviewing animation media.
