"There are crazy things after me down here. Monsters. Demons. Angels. And right now two of them are holding me a prisoner. I don't know how to get out of here, but there's more."
Henry Stein's audio diary

This article contains a list of all enemies encountered and fought in Bendy and the Ink Machine.

List of enemies

Common enemies

Searchers

Main article: Searchers

The Searchers are torso-shaped ink blob creatures and the most common enemies that first appear in Chapter 2 and onward. They spawn from bubbly ink puddles and slowly crawl after Henry to attack. Occasionally, the Searchers can appear in larger groups.

Besides one group of common normal Searchers, there are also several unique variants and some individuals:

Lost Ones

Main article: Lost Ones (enemies)

The Lost Ones are the ink realm's main population, appearing as ink humanoids who were once human beings from the real world. They first appear in Chapter 4 but they are not a threat to Henry at that time. In Chapter 5, the hostile Lost Ones appear at the Lost Harbor during the fight with the allies Allison Angel and Tom; they attack with random weapons or even with their barehands.

At the time, the Lost Ones seem to lack sexual dimorphism.

Special enemies

Ink Demon

Main article: Ink Demon

The Ink Demon is an imperfect, first attempt at making a real version of Joey Drew Studios' mascot Bendy and the primary antagonist of Bendy and the Ink Machine. As the main recurring threat, he will pursue after Henry upon near approach, and he is the only enemy immune to any weapons so the only survival option is to sprint away as possible and hiding in Little Miracle Stations. He is also one of the few enemies to instantly kill Henry in a single hit.

Butcher Gang

Main article: Butcher Gang (ink realm)

The Butcher Gang is a trio group of corrupted, disfigured versions of the original cartoon villains from the original Bendy cartoons. They first appear in Chapter 3 and later returns in Chapter 4 and 5. They were also fought as bosses in Chapter 3 for "The Angel's Wrath" objection task.

There is a total of three members:

The Projectionist

Main article: The Projectionist

The Projectionist is a monstrous reincarnation of the studio's lead projectionist Norman Polk. He is encountered in Chapter 3 and 4, and he will chase after those who is caught in his search light or when his ink hearts are touched or taken. Optionally, besides normally doing stealth, Henry can actually battle against the Projectionist in a boss fight-like manner; the creature will ultimately die after taking enough hits from Henry's weapon.

Giant Bendy Hand

Main article: Giant Bendy Hand

The giant Bendy hand is a large disembodied cartoon arm only encountered in Chapter 5 where it dwells in the ink river. The beast will drag down the barge or any objects that gets near them, and just like the Ink Demon, they can not be fought and one hit is an instant kill.

Boss enemies

Searcher Boss

Main article: Searcher Boss

The Searcher Boss is a hidden boss in Chapter 3 and was fought during the last lever challenge minigame after pulling the third switch. It is a gigantic version of a Searcher wearing a fedora and deals a heavy number of damage but is a slow attacker.

Bertrum Piedmont

Main article: Bertrum Piedmont (ink realm)

Bertrum Piedmont is a creator of Bendy Land and appears in Chapter 4 as the chapter's first boss.

Brute Boris

Main article: Brute Boris

Brute Boris is a monstrous form of Boris the Wolf after receiving the excessive amount of torture from Alice. He is a final boss of Chapter 4.

Sammy Lawrence

Main article: Sammy Lawrence (ink realm)

Sammy Lawrence is a former music director of Joey Drew Studios and appears as one of the antagonists. He is not a threat at first in Chapter 2, but later on, in his unexpecting appearance in Chapter 5, he is fought as a boss of the chapter.

Beast Bendy

Main article: Beast Bendy

Beast Bendy is a larger, monstrous form of the Ink Demon, serving as a boss at the end of Chapter 5 and he is also the final boss of Bendy and the Ink Machine as a whole.

Non-hostile enemies

There are also few enemies who, despite being antagonists, do not confront against Henry nor make any physical harm to him.

Alice Angel

Main article: Alice Angel (ink realm)

Alice Angel is a human caricature-like counterpart of her original cartoon counterpart and she is one of the secondary antagonists of Bendy and the Ink Machine, appearing in Chapter 3 and 4. Other than trying to kill Henry twice in some scenery, she never outright fought or chase after him as an enemy.

Swollen Jack

Main article: Swollen Jack

Swollen Jack is an ink version of Jack Fain and appears in Chapter 2 as a minor enemy. He is a Swollen Searcher, and while he is not a real threat to Henry, he serves as an obstacle, as he taken away a valve which was used for draining out the ink from Sammy Lawrence's office.

Behind the scenes

In the limited-time Hello Bendy crossover event released in October 2017, the antagonists (exception of Alice, the Butcher Gang, and Searchers.) in first three chapters were replaced by Theodore Peterson, the main antagonist of the Hello Neighbor series.
